The Arkansas River offers excellent kayaking opportunities for paddlers of various skill levels. Calm sections near town are great for beginners and SUP enthusiasts, while more experienced kayakers can tackle the Class II-IV rapids in Bighorn Sheep Canyon and the Royal Gorge. Several local outfitters rent kayaks and offer instruction. Always check current water conditions and wear appropriate safety gear.
